This year marks 25 years since Totalteatret premiered the performance «Siste kveld med mamma»  at the Riddu Riđđu Festival. At the time, the festival was celebrating its 10th anniversary, and the revitalization of Coastal Sámi culture that inspired the production was in full swing. The play’s tone and self-irony struck a chord with audiences. What actually took place during the cultural revival of which the play was a part, and what is the state of Coastal Sámi performing arts today?
