High Water Drum Group

Concert

High Water Drum Group is a powerful family-based drum group from the Lower Similkameen Indian Band of the Syilx/Okanagan Nation in British Columbia, Canada.

For generations, High Water Drum Group has carried forward a proud musical tradition that resonates across Indigenous communities throughout North America. For more than 35 years, the family has travelled across Canada and the United States, sharing their songs at powwows, ceremonies, cultural gatherings, and at festivals.

Every drumbeat and every song carries the stories, language, and deep connection to the homeland and identity of the smelqmix (the Similkameen/Syilx people).

We have long dreamed of bringing a powwow drum group to the Riddu festival grounds—and now it's finally happening! Join us as High Water Drum Group takes the main stage at Riddu Riđđu!
