The Riddu Riđđu festival celebrates 25 years this summer. We promise that the anniversary will be celebration properly and initiate the line-up with a Sami “snow lioness” and a North-Norwegian wonderboy!
Riddu Riđđu Festival wants to make sure young Sami artists develop their talents and are made visible nationally and internationally. Since the late 90s the festival has announced a young Sami artist as the “Young artist of the year”.
The rock band Sator, with the Manndalian Kent Norberg (Dalheim) as front man has engaged «half the village» in a wish to book the group for this summer's festival.

The music is forced out of Mali, but at Riddu Riđđu there is fortunately space and scene for Mali’s Tamikrest!

In 2013, Norway celebrated the national year of language diversity, and so did Riddu Riđđu through a special emphasis on Sami languages in the festival program.
Urban “A Tribe Called Red” aren't satsified with being DJ’s, they also bring a VJ. Video is also the koncept for Saami Elle Márjá Eira, whom is ready for this years Riddu Riđđu festival.

Throughout the year many people are working to realize the festival.
When Riddu Riđđu in 2009 was designated as a National festival it became a year-round festival. This means that we can work for indigenous people through the whole year.
This year it is the national year of languages and Riddu Riđđu has given room to the Sami languages in the program. Did you know there are ten Saami languages?
Every year the festival brings a northern indigenous people to the festival. The Norwegian department of foreign affairs has given Riddu Riđđu 1 million to expand this work.
