In December of last year, Riddu Riđđu surprised its audience with two artist releases for 2021's festival program. The latest additions to Riddu Riđđu's upcoming lineup is Katarina Barruk and Gájanas - both Sami acts, representing different musical genres.

Ailu Valle and Amoc reunite with live band Trio Boogiemen for a powerful rap and heavy rock concert at the Riddu Riđđu festival in 2021. The artists will soon release a brand new album following collaboration with superproducers Uyarakq and Juan Muteniac.

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs grants Riddu Riđđu 1 million NOK a year over the next three years to create an international delegate program. The news were recently announced in the High North white papers, published by the Norwegian Government.

Ticket sales for next year's Riddu Riđđu festival have opened, and the first 100 festival passes are sold at a discounted price. When the festival kicks off in the anniversary year of 2021, audience favorites ISÁK are ready to light up the stage. 

Riddu Riđđu is pleased to welcome Stian Pedersen and Ingrid Brandvik as producer and communications-/festival coordinator, respectively. The new staff members are already working towards next year's festival alongside the rest of the team.

We are proud to present Emil and Lavré in concert Friday June 5th from Center of Northern Peoples. The concert is the first in the Sámi concert series Stream Sápmi, a collaborative effort between Riddu Riđđu Festival and Center of Northern Peoples.

Riddu Riđđu 2020 is cancelled. Today the Norwegian government decided that the ban on gatherings with over 500 people will be continued till September 1st.

A lot has happened lately and the coronavirus has a huge impact on our daily lives. Life and health are most important, but we also know that many people in the arts are struggling now.

This conference focuses on the peak of Euro-American imperialism in the Western Arctic between about 1789 and 1914. By putting perspectives and experiences of marginalized beings in the centre, we look at the possibilities of rewriting the dominant history of this time period.

At Riddu Riđđu everyone should have a good time; both the little ones and the grown-ups!  

Each year, Riddu Riđđu invites an indigenous people to the festival, as The Northern People of the Year. The festival finds it important to create meeting places for indigenous people and to give indigenous people a platform from which they can tell their own stories.
