The Truth and Reconciliation Commission was passed by the Norwegian Parliament in 2018 and is set to examine the assimilation politics and injustice done to the Sámi, Kven and Norskfinner (Norwegian Finnish).

The leader of the Commission, Dagfinn Høybråten and members of the Commission, Anne Kalstad Mikkelsen, Liv Inger Somby and Marit Myrvoll will be at Riddu Riđđu to inform about the work of the Commission. They will attend a seminar on Friday, July 12th, where the festival audience will have the opportunity to talk with the members of the Commission. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission will also have their own lávvu at Riddu Siida Saturday, July 13th, where the festival audience can meet the Commission in a more private setting.

The seminar is in Sámi and Norwegian, and will be interpreted between Norwegian and Sámi.

The event is a collaboration between Riddu Riđđu Festivála and Center for Northern Peoples.
