Opphav are known for their commitment to North-Norwegian culture. They mix rap, slam poetry with folk songs and their music can be best described as folk rap. They bring up topics related to life, people, culture and nature along the coast of northern Norway. Climate, fisheries policies and equality are kept high on their agenda. The folk rap duo have travelled the country, quite a lot in Northern Norway and have become known for their intimate, engaging and peculiar concerts. In the last year, they have been warm-up act for Mari Boine and performed at Trænafestivalen, Kråkeslottfestivalen and many other gigs.

Politics meet slam poetry and music in a lovely and unique presentation. Their interaction on stage create a magic poetry and music experience out of the ordinary. The result is a distinctive combination of humor, satire, fishing boat romance and rough protest songs. Few can compare with the mood and intimacy this duo provides.

Risten Anine is a young Sami artist and joiker from Kvernmo/Kautokeino. In 2019 she explores the relationship between Northern Norwegian heritage and Sami heritage in a musical cooperation with the group from Tromsø: Opphav.
