Gobbagahpir course

Workshop

Gobbagahpir – the characteristic, tall and strong Sami women's hat – is a strong symbol of Sea Sami identity and history. In this course you will learn how to sew your own gobbagahpir, from the bottom to the finished hat, under the guidance of an experienced duodji practitioner.

The course is suitable for both beginners and advanced, and all necessary materials are provided at the course. If you have your own fabric and ribbon that you want to use, you are of course welcome to bring them.

The course runs over 3 days (July 10-13) from 11:00 to 15:00.

Course leader: Ramona Salo.
