Lávvosáhka: Is art our strongest weapon?
It is often said that art is our weapon in Sámi society. Art has the power to move something in an audience that might not otherwise be interested in political issues. Is it then the case that our artists have more power than our politicians? Is this power handled correctly or is only one side being heard? In this artist talk we meet Lakota-rapper Frank Waln, visual artist Anders Sunna and duojár Márjá Karlsen. The conversation will be led by Alice Jektevik.
Language: English.
What is Lávvosáhka?
This year, Riddu Riđđu is launching a new concept, as a supplement to the seminar program: a conversation series called Lávvosáhka. These conversations will take place in the Bálddalávvus, and their purpose is to move away from Western models of discussion, and return to informal conversation.
