Sálva/Håndtak
With different Sámi identities, in the aftermath of Norwegianization - Line and Anders fall in love. Anders is from a Sea Sámi village. Line is a Sámi from Tromsø. Can they tolerate being different, without their sense of self being threatened? What happens to the relationship when a child is on the way and Anders continues to get high?
Playwright Siri Broch Johansen follows the characters closely, without beautifying the forces that are triggered when two people, a woman and a man, fight to be understood by the other.
Music and sound are by Anders Rimpi. He has composed for several of Siri's plays. Mette Brantzeg, with a long career at both HT and Beaivváš Sámi Našunála Teáhter, directs.
The production is a collaboration with Bjørn Film & Story, Hålogaland Teater and Åarjelhsaemien Teatere/Sydsamisk Teater.
