Muorra is a short film that takes you on a journey through the lands of Sápmi, where the raw power inherent in the areas is put to the fore. The contact between human and land has become less and less, and with this film Hætta wants to show that the link between the two is not as far away as one might think.

Collaborators: Forest People, Ándaras Leonardsen and Lávre Johan Eira.

Riddu sessions 2024:
In 2023, Mihkkal Hætta was named Young Artist of the Year by Riddu Riđđu Festivála and in that context has created Riddu sessions, the festival's own program for young Sami artists.

This year's Riddu sessions is a short film by Mihkkal Hætta, in addition to a lávvu installation on the festival site. Hætta is a young Sami filmmaker and activist.

Through Riddu sessions, the audience gets to know Hætta's love for our lands.

Biography:

Mihkkal Hætta is a 23-year-old Sami filmmaker from Guovdageaidnu. Hætta wants to add a completely new genre to the ever-growing selection of Sami films. Hetta has big ambitions; he wants to transfer the Sami storytelling tradition to the screen and conquer the audience's hearts through Sami arthouse films.

Riddu sessions is a collaboration with Talent Norway and Sparebank1 Nord-Norge.
