Geavllet (full!)

Workshop

NB! This course is full and it's not possible to register for a waiting list.

Do you want to learn how to make a basket (geavllet) out of birch bark like it used to be before plastic became common?

The geavllet is folded by a birch bark flap and held together by a handle of willow twigs. Traditionally the basket was used to pick berries or to carry fish home.

Conservator Jorunn Jernsletten helps you make your own basket, which you get to take home.

The class lasts approximately three hours.

Advance registration. Tuition fee/ticket must be paid in advance.

Price: NOK 250
