Concert: Fawn Wood
At this year’s festival, we’re lucky to experience an intimate concert with one of the guests from this year’s Northern People program — Fawn Wood!
Fawn Wood is an award-winning Cree and Salish artist and traditional singer, as well as a cultural educator and language advocate from Canada. She is known for her powerful voice and deep connection to Indigenous storytelling through music. Her artistry has earned her national recognition — including a JUNO Award for Best Traditional Indigenous Artist.
Wood is a passionate advocate for Cree language revitalization. For years, she has promoted her heart language through performances, workshops, and her radio show Cree Chatter Hour. She continues to inspire others by standing proudly in her traditions and uplifting the next generation with pride and purpose.
We are truly excited to hear Fawn Wood perform in the Báldalávvu!
