Shadia Mansour

Concert

We are thrilled to welcome Shadia Mansour to the main stage at this year’s festival!

Shadia Mansour, also known as “The First Lady of Arabic Hip Hop”, is a Palestinian MC, singer, and producer who performs in Arabic.

She entered the music scene in 2002, at the forefront of public protests in London as a teenager, while still attending school and college. This led to her first public appearance at a London rally protesting the illegal occupation of Palestine. Shadia describes Arabic hip hop as playing a vital role in “globalizing the voice of the struggle” while providing a platform for artists.

As a pioneer, Shadia has helped shape an entire musical movement centered around political awareness. Her unique blend of rapping and singing—paired with performing in a traditional Palestinian thobe—has become her signature.

She has also collaborated with well-known artists and producers, including the Iraqi producer Sandhill on several tracks, as well as Ana Tijoux.

Now she takes the main stage at Riddu Riđđu, and we can't wait to experience Palestinian hip hop together with our audience!
