The Inuit tradition of face tattoos was forbidden for a century and was almost forgotten. Director Alethea Arnaquq-Baril wishes in the movie to unveil the mystery and purpose behind this old tattoo tradition. Together with a good friend, she travels on an adventure through Arctic societies, talks to elderly and brings up the stories of a once popular female art form. Central in the movie is Arnaquq-Barils personal discusssion on whether or not she should get tattoos herself.
