Northern Cree
We have wanted to make this happen for a LONG time! Northern Cree, one of the most renowned groups in powwow and Round Dance music, will be performing at our festival!
Northern Cree, also known as Northern Cree Singers, is an unforgettable name in the world of traditional music, and they have made a significant impact on both the Canadian and international scenes.
The group was formed in 1982 by the talented Wood brothers – Steve, Randy, Charlie, and Earl – from Saddle Lake Cree Nation in Maskwacis, Alberta, and has since become a symbol of authentic Indigenous tradition and music. They have over 35 albums to their name and a remarkable 9 Grammy nominations.
Northern Cree has had the pleasure of collaborating with major names such as The Halluci Nation (formerly A Tribe Called Red), M.I.A., and Santigold – and they continue to break boundaries with their unique blend of traditional rhythms and modern sound.
Don’t miss the chance to hear and experience the power of Northern Cree’s music at Riddu Riđđu this summer.
