The Ravens’ Battle is a bilingual picture book for children. It focuses on language and identity issues through a narrative of ravens from the two locations Skare and Vyen. The Vyen-ravens are portrayed as the oppressed and vulnerable. Through their everyday life in general and this story in particular, we follow their struggle to reclaim their rights. Text and illustrations by Aino Hivand. Rauni Magga Lukkari has translated the book into North Sami. Hivand is an artist and writer from Varanger, now living in Manndalen.
