OZAS: Etniid ulloliinnit

Performance

The concert performance "Etniid ulloliinnit" means "The mothers' Sámi wool shawl" and is performed by the group OZAS.

OZAS consists of sisters Risten Anine and Sara Marielle Gaup. They bring with them musicians and dancers on stage.

The traditional Sámi wool shawl is worn by all women in Sápmi and is an important marker of belonging and identity. In this performance, OZAS explores the multifunctional shawl. Can the wool shawl symbolize an opposite to taboo societal challenges? Years of assimilation policy and colonization of Sápmi have created trauma and open wounds within the Sámi community. These need to be made visible.

The performance is shown in the Culture hall. This year you have to book a seat in advance, which can be done as of Monday in the festival week. Everyone who has bought a ticket will receive information about this by e-mail.
