Áhči áiti

This year marks the beginning of Áhči áiti - a long-term building project based around an old Mercedes Sprinter van. The project draws inspiration from Sámi outbuilding traditions and bricolage - a do-it-yourself approach to making and building.

Áhči áiti is a gathering place on the Riddu festival grounds where people can take part in craft activities, cooking, or simply stop by for a chat and a moment of rest. The project is open-ended and will continue to evolve over time through new ideas, additions, and practical solutions.

Áhči áiti is being developed by artists Joar Nango and Geir Tore Holm in collaboration with duojár Ove Stødle and others.
