Riddu Riđđu at Verdensteatret

Following a different summer, Riddu Riđđu is excited to welcome people to Verdensteatret in Tromsø for a film screening and Q&A.

We are excited to host a screening of the two short films “HURRA FOR MAMMA” (2001) and “HO MAMMA E DAU FOR HÆLVETTE!” (2019) in collaboration with Tromsø International Film Festival (TIFF). The movies explore family dynamics in a coastal Sámi family on two separate occasions. The first movie is set in 1979, when the family gathers to celebrate Mother's 60th birthday. The sequel takes place 16 years later in the aftermath of Mother's death, which sees the reunion of the brothers. Stein Bjørn, starring actor, will join us on stage for a Q&A after the screening.

The film screening is organized in line with all applicable rules for infection control in order to make it a safe event. Audience members are encouraged to show up with time to spare, as admissions are expected to take longer than usual. The movie screening is free, but tickets have to be reserved in advance.
