New general manager at Riddu Riđđu Festival
Henrik Olsen has been appointed as the new general manager of the international Indigenous festival Riddu Riđđu. Olsen comes to the festival from his role as Senior Advisor at Davvi Álbmogiid Guovddáš/Centre for Northern Peoples. He takes over the position from Frode Haugstvedt Henriksen.
In his role as general manager, Henrik Olsen will be responsible for the festival's daily operations and administration, as well as the continued development of the festival's organization and financial framework.
Henrik Olsen has a long history with Riddu Riđđu, having previously worked as the general manager and producer for the festival from 2001 to 2009.
"I am excited to take on the role of general manager at Riddu Riđđu. In many ways, it feels like coming home. The festival has established a truly unique position as one of the most important Indigenous platforms in the world, and it is exciting to be part of managing and further developing the festival organization" says Olsen.
Chairwoman of Riddu Riđđu Festivála AS, Bente Ovedie Skogvang, is happy to have Olsen on board:
"Henrik Olsen is a strategist who has long put Indigenous political issues on the agenda. In addition to his extensive experience with Riddu Riđđu, he also brings valuable experience from his work as a member of the Sámi Parliament and from our important partner, Davvi Álbmogiid Guovddáš. Henrik has a great work capacity, broad expertise, and an extensive network that will undoubtedly benefit the festival. We are thrilled to have Henrik join the team!"
Olsen will start in the position of general manager on June 15th.
