Fan favorites ready for this year's Riddu Riđđu

Europe's largest indigenous festival, which will be held this summer for the 32nd time in Olmmáivággi, spares no expense in today's artist release. The festival announces today that Sámi artists Rolffa and Hildá & Tuomas will be part of the programme, and promises a atmosphere that the audience will remember forever.

They call themselves "Finnmark's undisputed party guarantors" and there is little doubt that the Riddu audience can expect a solid performance from the band Rolffa in July. Rolffa, with roots from Finnmark, kick-started their career with the song "Partyjoik", which has recently been described as "Finnmark's national anthem". It has been 12 years since the group last played at Riddu Riđđu, and now the crowd favorites are finally returning to beautiful Olmmáivággi.

Soundscapes based on improvisation and the space between echoes and rhythms form a meeting place for Hildá's ethereal vocals and Tuomas' samples. Tuomas Norvio works as a sound designer, composer, musician and producer, with a background in electronica. Hildá Länsman has distinguished herself as a composer, lyricist, an award-winning musician, and a champion of the joik tradition. The duo has been creating music together since 2017, and will play for the first time at Riddu Riđđu this summer.

Festival director Sajje Solbakk is excited about the grand announcement:

"The concerts with Rolffa, Hildá & Tuomas will undoubtedly be wild! Our audience have requested Rolffa on stage for many years, and it is cool to be able to give them this. Hildá has played for us several times with other projects and always makes a strong impression with her powerful voice. Her vocals combined with Tuomas' samples are a gift to Sápmi!”

Tickets for Riddu Riđđu festivála 2023 are now on sale at riddu.no. From before, the festival has announced Ana Tijoux, Resiklurert, Katarina Barruk, Lávre and Manne for this summer's programme.
