Collaborates with leading artist on festival poster

This year's festival poster for Riddu Riđđu is created by Sámi artist Anders Sunna.

Festival director Sajje Solbakk is thrilled that the sought-after artist agreed to the prestigious assignment. Sunna (born in Kiruna in 1985) is one of the foremost Sámi contemporary artists, and despite his relatively young age has already made a name for himself in a wide range of arenas, most recently as one of the artists who represented Sápmi in the Nordic pavilion during the Venice Biennale in 2022.

Anders Sunna has a clear political expression in his art, and this year's Riddu poster is no exception.

We think the poster has become incredibly stylish, says festival director Solbakk. Anders Sunna has been given completely free reins with the design, and the results are everything we dared to hope for, Solbakk continues.

The poster is made in a style that brings to mind traditional woodcuts, while the color choice, motif and other graphics help to give it a distinctly modern feel.

The poster is designed in two variants, one with a male main motif and one with a female main motif. Both designs will be used in different ways during the festival.
