Tarrak

Concert

Tarrak coming to the main stage at Riddu Riđđu 2026!

Politics and rap have always gone hand in hand – but this year, Greenlandic rap hits harder than ever. Tarrak is known for speaking his mind, with no filter and no sugarcoating. He is considered one of the most important voices on the Greenlandic rap scene, and through his lyrics he connects the political and the personal with a sharp and uncompromising critique of colonialist thinking.

He made his breakthrough with the debut album FxGxS, where the track “Tupilak” in particular became a major viral hit. In 2019, he followed up with the album Josef Tarrak, a deeply personal and autobiographical project in which the artist explores the inner corners of the soul. The album later found new life in the theatre world, adapted into a stage production with the same name.

In 2023, Tarrak released the single “Uummatima” with the Danish rap group Suspekt. The following year saw the release of the singles “Ua” and “Fjernsynip Aquutaa”, and in the spring of 2025 he dropped “Polka.”

Tarrak has received several awards, including the Talent Award at the Koda Awards in 2017, the Award of the Year at the Koda Awards in 2021, and the Self-Government’s Naalakkersuisut Encouragement Award in 2017.

In 2023, he made history as the first Greenlandic rapper to perform at Roskilde Festival.

Are you ready? This is going to hit hard.
