Qacung
Qacung is set to create magic at Riddu Riđđu 2026!
Are you like us, and can`t get enough of Pamyua? Now you also have the chance to experience Qacung’s solo universe.
Steven “Qacung” Blanchett is an artist from Alaska, known for co-founding the group Pamyua with his brother Phillip in 1995. For over 25 years, Qacung has been creating music with Pamyua. Now he takes the stage alone, with his acoustic guitar and powerful voice.
His first solo album, “Miu – A Place From Which”, was released in July 2021. The album’s first single, “Our Stories”, is a love letter to his hometown and to Yup’ik and Inupiaq culture.
Qacung’s inspiration to perform comes from his own mixed cultural background. As the son of a Yup’ik Inuit mother and an African American father, he blends both cultures in his artistic expression. The result is beautiful melodies you could listen to forever, but for now, you can experience Qacung live in Báldalávvues on the Riddu plains. Don’t miss the opportunity!
