This summer, you’ll get to experience Elle Maija on the main stage! 

Elle Maija is a Northern Sámi guitarist and vocalist from Kárášjohka who has made her mark on Sámi music ever since her teenage years. Many know her as the lead guitarist in Rolffa, but she has also collaborated with Mari Boine and a number of other prominent Sámi artists. 

In 2023, we saw her shine on Stjernekamp, and in recent years she has been active with the National Touring Theatre of Norway as a musician and composer for the play “Per Hansen – en trofast mann – Oskkaldas almmái”, written by Siri Borch Johansen and directed by Hanne Tømta. 

She is now in the midst of her first solo project, where she both yoiks and sings in Northern Sámi and Norwegian. She lets the yoik meet blues, pop, and rock, creating a sound that both honors the traditions and pushes their boundaries. The result is a rhythmic, energetic, and distinctive sonic landscape – and we can’t wait to dance along when Elle Maija takes the main stage this summer!
