This year's festival poster is made by Kai Mikkel Balto

This year’s stunning poster is created by Kai Mikkel Balto, our 2024 Young Artist of the Year. The poster is inspired by a desire for visibility and playful contrasts. In Kai Mikkel’s own words:
“I wanted to draw two men in traditional Ivgugákti with feminine features - because feminine men have little representation in Sámi society. I enjoy blending things that are usually seen as opposites: femininity and masculinity, tradition and modernity.”
Want to see more of Kai Mikkel’s art?  Then you should grab a ticket to Riddu Riđđu this summer, as Balto is behind this year’s festival exhibition.

But in the meantime, we can all just admire this work of art in poster form!
