NANU - Sámi Arts International in London

With Máret Ánne Sara’s historic exhibition at Tate Modern’s Turbine Hall, Sámi art steps into the global spotlight like never before. There could be no better moment to strengthen Sámi presence in London - and to launch NANU – Sámi Arts International, a new platform dedicated to promoting Sámi art worldwide.

To mark this occasion, NANU, Riddu Riđđu, and Dáiddadállu invite audiences, partners, and the international art community to join us for three days of events and celebration across London – showcasing the strength, creativity and contemporary power of Sámi art and culture.

Through performances, conversations and encounters, we highlight the global relevance of Sámi art - art that is both forward-looking and deeply rooted in the North. The program culminates on October 16 with a Sámi takeover of Corner Bar at Tate Modern, featuring some of the most prominent Sámi artists of our time.

Birgeupmi Through Art & Duodji

This seminar explores knowledge, cooperation, and responsibility within the Sámi framework of birgejupmi - bringing national and international partners together in a shared space where artists lead the conversation and shape the future of Sámi and Indigenous engagement.

Acquiring and Stewarding Circumpolar Indigenous Art: New Curatorial Strategies seminar will gather leading national art institutions and Indigenous artists to reflect on the ethics, challenges, and responsibilities of collecting, exhibiting, and conserving contemporary Indigenous art.
