Sofia Jannok has established herself as one of Sápmis biggest artists. She has revitalized the Sámi music tradition based around yoik by combining a modern soundscape. By mixing electronica, jazz and folk music with her heartfelt yoik, she paints the most beautiful arctic landscapes with her music.  This spring she´ll release a new album that is said to offer vulnerability, raw power and a burning passion for Sápmi and it´s people. Her single Snölejoninna (snow lioness) was released on Sami peoples day this February, and gave her fans a taste of the new Jannok to come.  

Jannok says this about playing the festival; ” I adore Riddu Riđđu! Both me and the band consider it the highlight of the summer.  That I risk  missing out on  the reindeer calf season at home, shows how much I appreciate the festival”
