The Lyng horse is one of three Nor- wegian horse breeds and it is an endangered species. Veterinary Geirmund Vik has been an important person in the effort to maintain this breed. During the festival he will be awarded the King's Medal of Merit for this work. This will be marked with a mini seminar on the horse breed.
