She is the new communications and festival coordinator at Riddu Riđđu

Europe's largest Indigenous festival has hired Maria Løkvoll (29) as a new communications and festival coordinator starting on 1 May. Løkvoll is a Olmmávággi native and comes from the role of culture manager in Lebesby municipality. She has extensive experience with the renowned festival in her home village, including as a board member for the past four years.

Løkvoll has a master's degree in management, innovation and marketing, where she wrote her dissertation Festival management - freedom under responsibility and a focus on networking. She will be responsible for the festival's marketing and communication work, and together with the general manager will manage the operation of the office, which is located at the Center for Northern People.

Excited to start a new role
"I'm really looking forward to getting to work. I grew up with Riddu Riđđu and have a big Riddu heart which comes in handy at work. It will be exciting to learn new things and develop myself together with the others." says Løkvoll.
